Zara Watson-Young

Founding Attorney & CEO

Zara Watson-Young specializes in transparent trademarking for the modern digital entrepreneur.

She received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and graduated from Cardozo Yeshiva Law School in Manhattan. Beginning her career working with a special education firm, Zara quickly realized that her passion was serving entrepreneurs in trademark registration. In 2017, she launched her virtual firm Zara Watson Law. Four and a half years later, Zara and her husband, Sean Young, Esq. joined forces to expand their reach and formed Watson & Young in 2022.

Named a rising star in Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers and Top Women Attorneys in the New York Metro Area, Zara has served hundreds of brands in securing their intellectual property, propelling them into long-lasting brand recognition. Zara currently resides in New York City with her husband and daughter.

Sean Young

From the beginning of Sean’s legal career, he has helped businesses secure their Intellectual Property.

Sean received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2015 with a concentration in intellectual property, media, and information law. While there, he was a member of the Brooklyn Law School Incubator & Policy Clinic, where he started his career advising businesses and startups in NYC on entity formation and intellectual property protection.
Since then, Sean has litigated hundreds of cases, from complex commercial litigation to trademark oppositions recovering thousands of dollars in damages for his clients. His courtroom experience has allowed him to successfully negotiate, litigate, and mediate favorable outcomes for his clients against Fortune 500 companies and major publications. It’s a bit of an understatement to say that Sean knows the ropes when it comes to corporate entities and trademark registration. From startups to scaling businesses, Sean is highly experienced in the courtroom in the process of litigation, passionately advocating for his clients.

Sean has joined forces with his wife, Zara, to pursue their long-held dreams of owning a law firm that focuses on helping their clients own, police, license, and leverage their Trademarks. Outside the courtroom, Sean enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and daughter. He also serves as a Board Of Director and legal counsel for the non-profit Dental Helping Hands, dedicated to improving the lives of others through health care in underserved communities abroad.

“Zara did a fireside chat with our beauty brand founders and was able to support and guide them in a number of areas of their businesses including copyright law, trademarking, international distribution and more. Her depth of knowledge and specialization in the beauty and fashion space allowed her to be hyper tailored with her advice. There are very specific aspects and nuances in beauty and fashion law and Zara and her team have expertise and authority in this space unlike anyone else. I look forward to continuing to work with Zara both inside our programs and with our clients”

“I had the pleasure of hosting Zara to speak to my community about building a robust brand and personal styling business recently, and it’s an understatement to say she was a hit. Zara’s unique blend of legal expertise in the fashion and beauty industry is a rare and substantial asset for business owners in those domains. Her ability to address and validate the fears of business owners while providing explanations that the audience can understand is truly invaluable. I eagerly anticipate Zara’s future engagements with my community, and I wholeheartedly recommend working with her.”
